Cherrymore is our cherry and plum orchard located in the beautiful Hilltops Region just south of Young, New South Wales. The Batinich Family have owned and run the Cherrymore Orchard for the last four generations. All Cherrymore products are of Single Origin, and all the fruit used in our products come from our own orchard. Young is one of the best growing regions for stone fruit in Australia and is home to the National Cherry Festival every year.
Our Farm
The Batinich Family have been growing cherries and stone fruit at Cherrymore for four generations. Michael and Wendy’s sons, Tim, Daniel and Matthew have grown up living and breathing cherries and plums.
A great deal about growing stone fruit needs to be learnt "hands on" so the boys have spent time with their parents and Grandfather, Noel, travelling around the property and learning things that only experience could teach.
There are more than 65,000 fruit trees at Cherrymore Orchard with over 20 varieties of cherries and 10 varieties of plums.
Hilltops Growing Region - Young
Renowned internationally as one of the best growing regions of stone fruit in the world, the Hilltops Region of New South Wales has cold winters, cold evenings and hot summers.
To break dormancy during winter, stone fruit trees need chilling environments to resume normal growth. This enables them to burst into bud and produce flowers in Spring. These flowers then become our fruit.
The Hilltops Region provides this perfect climate.
